Interview by Chrissie Sheppard with One World Music Radio

March 23, 2026

Welcome to the album show here on One World Music Radio with me Chrissie Sheppard, where I’m talking to David De Michele about his new album “Through the Cosmos" … Hi  would you like to give the listeners an overview of the album

Sure, thank you so much Chrissie. This album was inspired by visualizations of interstellar travel to distant worlds. The music is cinematic and tells a story, with each track expressing part of the narrative. As I scored each track, the music flowed. Since I do not read or write musical notation, Through the Cosmos was created through intuition and is a direct expression of inspirations and visualizations.

So would you now like to select just 3 tracks from the album and tell us the stories behind the music? (Please talk about each one separately)

Of course …

So firstly, in view of current world events, I was inspired to create music that could provide a refuge in a sense, music that is calming that promotes focus, inner peace, and a sense of hope.

As I was scoring Starport, I envisioned an immense space port orbiting the Earth with numerous interstellar vessels docked in preparation for deep space exploration. The immensity and complexity of the facility becomes more apparent as you get closer. The space port is the starting point for the journey.

While scoring the music for the track Time Warp, I envisioned interstellar travel at near light speed and the relativistic time dilation, where time slows down for the traveller relative to the space port. Imagine how the stars will look as you approach light speed … imagine the implications of returning to the space port months later, how many years will have passed in their time … what changes would we see upon our return home …

The World Within from a cosmic perspective is an expression of our connection to the Universe, as in the Universe Within … how the cosmos is deeply integrated within our own existence. As Carl Sagan said, “we are star stuff,” meaning that every atom within us was forged inside a star that lived and died long before the Earth was formed. So as we travel the stars we’re very much a part of it all.

So where can our listeners buy the album?

Listeners can buy the album on Amazon Music, Qobuz for high resolution, and can also be streamed on digital audio streaming services such as Spotify, Pandora, or iTunes. Listeners can also visit my website at www.daviddemichele.com
